Sang-Siah is one of the most distinguished historical neighborhoods of the city of Shiraz in Iran. Unfortunately, very little have been done to preserve this neighborhood and its future life demands attention from the city, developers, urban designers and architects. Over the past one hundred years, many of the houses in this neighborhood have been collapsed or replaced by new buildings. This project proposes an extremely walkable urban plan along with a large number of housing units and public spaces. The relationship between the old and the new, and proper ways of designing for a historical neighborhood were explored.
